Recently, professionals in our Pennsylvania Government Relations Group were responsible for the following key accomplishments:

State Appropriations/Legislative Accomplishments

  •  We assisted in securing $307,000 in federal funds for The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center to support its expanded facility.
  • In the last Pennsylvania State Budget, we helped secure tens of millions of dollars for clients in operating appropriations.
  •  We assisted in securing more than $17 million in Redevelopment Capital Assistance Program grants for our clients' capital projects.
  •  We preserved funding from the Key93 Fund to provide money for maintenance and continued conservation of open lands within the commonwealth.
  •  We assisted in securing $4.75 million in Pennsylvania state grants for the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh for a capital budget program and expansion of services.
  • In less than 45 days, we worked with state government to change the Pennsylvania Crimes Code to allow nonprofit 501(c)3 consumer credit counseling service providers to continue providing a mechanism for debt-burdened clients to repay financial obligations while keeping their dignity and self-respect.
  •  We aided St. Vincent College in securing the release of $1 million in state capital budget funding for the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children's Media.
  • We assisted the Senator John Heinz Regional History Center in obtaining a $500,000 general fund budget line item for the center's operations and expansion of outreach programs.
  • We helped to secure $13.5 million for ASSET Inc. in the name of "Science, It's Elementary," which provides science teacher professional development programs in elementary schools for well over 100 school districts throughout Pennsylvania. The purpose is to improve the teaching and learning of science in K-6 classrooms.
  • We aided the Cradle of Liberty Boy Scouts of America in securing funding for its "Learning for Life" program that helps young adults learn career skills.
  • We helped the Regional Housing Legal Services in securing funding to assist individuals with affordable housing legal matters. 
  • We assisted the MS Hershey Foundation secure $5 million in funding for the "Hershey Story," a new museum in Hershey that will teach children many important lessons from Milton Hershey's life story.
  • We helped to secure a special appropriation of $10 million to help the Pittsburgh School District implement its school "right-sizing" program, aiding in the enactment of legislation for the district amending the Public School Code to provide the administration with additional authority to manage school principals.
  • We aided the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust in gaining the release of $7 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program funding for its downtown Pittsburgh revitalization efforts.
