Washington, D.C., May 6, 2009 — Barbara A. Binzak, Ph.D., an associate in the Food and Drug Section of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Washington, D.C., office, was recently appointed vice chair of the Update Editorial Advisory Board. Update, published six times per year, is a publication of the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI).
Binzak has been on the Update Editorial Advisory Board since 2006. Her new position as vice chair is expected to last one year, with expected subsequent advancement to the position of chair for one year.
Binzak has been involved with the FDLI since winning second place in the FDLI 2001-2002 H. Thomas Austern Memorial Writing Competition for an article on pharmacogenomics as a third-year law student. She has also participated in a panel discussion on regulatory issues pertaining to pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics at the FDLI's 2004 annual meeting.
